This Life of Mine

This life of mine is crazy these days.  Crazier than normal, that is.  It's always a little crazy I suppose. Wouldn't be mine if it wasn't.  But these days it is even MORE crazy!  The school year is winding down.  Projects are due.  Testing is taking place like crazy.  And my family is counting down to summer vacation! Add in there the fact that we have decided to paint a good part of the house, have many repairs done and change out some major fixtures (like the huge chandelier in the foyer) and you have a fantastic recipe for total chaos and nonstop activity! On the bright side...I found my paint color today for the foyer.  In a short while you walk in my front door and behold...are you ready?..."Straw Basket".  That's right.  That's the color I've picked.  At least.  It's the color I have picked TONIGHT.  Waiting to see it in the morning sun!  If I like as much as we think we will...then straw basket will be splashed all over my foyer walls.  Well...not splashed, exactly.  I'm paying good money to see that it is NOT splashed!  Anyway...lots of big projects about to get underway!

I'm also up to my eyeballs in pictures.  I shot a dance studio this past Saturday and have a zillion packages sitting here on my desk to be processed.  I am slowly, but surely working my way through them all.  It is taking longer than I thought it might.  One, because I am being SO careful not to overdo it and sit for too very long.  It kills my shoulders and neck whenever I do that.  And two...life just keeps happening here and changing my work plans.  Today, for example, I had to take Ben to Urgent Care to see if he had a broken finger.  Seems his finger had a run in with a rather hard and stationary book case and Ben came out on the loosing end.  It has been killing him and keeping him up at night.  So went in to make sure it was okay.  And it was.  No breaks.  Just a good hard jam.  Nothing some tape and a good lunch with an ibuprofen chaser couldn't fix.  Got to love those $50 X-rays though!  In addition to getting fingers x-rayed I've been hitting Lowe's and Home Depot to get paint samples and lighting stores to look at chandeliers.  Thus...still working on the dance pictures.

Up and coming?  Well, let's see.  This weekend is a BIG one for  us!  For one...it's the deadline I have set for finishing the dance pictures!  Then, Chris is running in his first triathlon up at Lake Ray Roberts on Saturday morning.  After we get done cheering him on, we will be heading over to Carollton to celebrate my nephew, Daniel's second birthday!  Matt and Suzie are throwing another big party for him to celebrate his big milestone.  Last year was a lot of fun with mariachi singers, karaoke and swimming!  I can't wait to see what they have planned this year.  And to think...we just had a couple of neighborhood kids over when my kids were turning one and two!

All three kids seem to have some sort of cold.  And now tonight, Chris has come down with it too.  Not sure how this will effect his triathlon  on Saturday.  Hopefully he will kick it quickly before it kicks him too hard.  It will be hard to bike and run and swim while coughing and snotting the way kids have been!  I am, as of right now, last man standing against this nasty spring cold.  I hope to stay that way too!  Did I mention that I am a busy lady this weekend and do NOT have time to be nursing a cold while I am jumping all over Dallas Texas!

And on a final note...I have been running like a crazy lady.  5 miles on Saturday.  6 on Sunday.  5 on Monday and another 4 today.  It's like my feet have wings this week!  I can't to see what I manage to log before Saturday!

Okay...so that's the update from the homefront.  Busy, chaotic, bustling and crazy!  But hey...it's life as we know it!  I'm sure things will settle down next week.  It's sad when you are looking towards Monday as your quiet "down" day, huh?!  Ahhh...must go.  Laundry is calling me!  Amongst other things!  Until later!
